Hello,
I am facing a strange problem here that I couldn't find any solution to anywhere.
I am running Genie on Mac through Wineskin.
whenever I want to paste data from Excel into the CPT of a node, it gives me the error "Can't paste: Invalid separator".
and this only happens when I want to enter more than one value, therefore there is not a problem with the data in my Excel file, as I can copy and paste one value at a time but not the whole table.
hope you can help me with this
Have a great day!

Re: Can't paste data into node cpt
Can you copy a range from Excel, then paste into TextEdit and post the pasted text?
Also, can you copy from a CPT in GeNIe and paste into Excel?

Re: Can't paste data into node cpt
Thank you for replying. and sorry for my late reply.
1. No, I still can't paste from TextEdit the whole table but it does allow pasting a column though. I have attached the error message that show up when i try to paste the whole table.
2. Yes, I can copy and paste from Genie to an Excel file with no problems
Nevertheless, with your idea of trying another program than Excel, I have tried Pages and it has worked well. I can paste the whole table now. so thank you for your help :)
Though it would be more convenient to just paste directly from Excel, my advisor is able to do that on her laptop using the same files (Genie and Excel files), i don't know why i can't.

Re: Can't paste data into node cpt
On your Mac, can you copy a range of numeric cells from Excel, then paste it to TextEdit, save the file and post it here?
We don't have Excel for the Mac, and would like to reproduce/fix the problem.

Re: Can't paste data into node cpt
We have fixed this issue. New GeNIe release should be available within a week or two. If you want to access a private build, let me know which GeNIe edition you're using (academic vs business).
Re: Can't paste data into node cpt
Oh great. cause I am stuck and I have to submit my thesis on Monday, so I would really appreciate the private build. I am using the academic version.
and by the way, now i can’t even paste anything, not even one value, and neither pasting from Pages works anymore.
i have attached the error it is showing
thanks for the help

Re: Can't paste data into node cpt
Just sent you a PM with links to GeNIe Academic 4.0.3225. Let me know if copy/paste works for you. What we've found when trying to reproduce the problem was thatr text placed in the clipboard by Excel, then copied to GeNIe running on Wine contain lines ending in the CR/CR/LF sequence instead of just CR/LF.
