Re: Still no soft evidence in case manager

Unfortunately i noticed, that in the most recent version of genie it's till impossible to save / edit soft evidence via the case manager. Can you tell me, if and when this feature will be implemented? I really need this functionality for my work.

Current estimate for the delivery of this feature ...

Marginalisation Noisy Adder

Hello,

suppose to have two connected chance nodes A and B (each with only two variables). Then the probability of node B can be obtained by applying:

P(B)=P(B|A)*P(A)+P(B|not(A))*P(not(A)

But what if chance node B is a Noisy Adder with a LEAK of 0.95. How can the probability of B be computed ...

Do you have a slight idea, when this feature will be implemented in Genie? It would faciliate my daily work with genie very much.

Is a fix or a strategy for fixing already available? Can you estimate when there will be a working version available?

Consideration of soft-evidences in the case manager

Hello Genie&Smile-Community,

i didn't succeed in setting soft evidence within the case manager. Having lots of soft evidences it's a problem to handle them manually. Is it possible to integrate the feature of handling soft evidence within the case manager?

No evidence sign present

I attached an example to this post. And it seems to be that the problem has something todo with the submodel 'B' in the model. If i delete the submodel 'B' everything works as it should.

You can reproduce the problem by the following:

1. Go to submodel A
2. Select an arbitraty node(s) for setting ...

Creation of MAU-Nodes with jsmile

Hello dev-team,

we currently have the problem that we are not able to create mau-nodes using jsmile. We create the nodes with:

mynet.addNode(Network.NodeType.Mau, "Testnode");

But trying to display the result in genie only shows a ALU-node instead of MAU.

How can we do this? Is that a bug ...

Thank You so much! But a small remark...

Thank you so much, you saved my thesis :)!!! Soft evidence works perfect for me and it is implemented exactly as i expected it to be! Nice work! The only thing i am wondering about is, why the symbol for the soft evidence dissapears if you click on the yellow update arrow (or update immediately via ...

Hello Marek,

how is the current situation with setting a value is evidence? Is it still planned to be implemented suddendly? Hopefully your graduate student is still interested in this topic :)

I'm asking because it's really important for me that this feature will be implemented, if not i have to ...

Integration of soft-evidence

Hello Dev-Team,

can you please tell me when the integration of soft evidence will be possible in genie? I really need this functionality for my further work.

It would be nice if you could work on it!

Sincerely

Joerg

Thanks for advice

Hello Mark,

thank you for your advice. Using the formulas
P(node3=state0|node2=state0)=x and P(node3=state0|node2=state1)=1-x

...i have derived a formula for the marginal probability of node3=state0:

P(Node3=state0)=P(Node2=state1)*P(Node2=state0)/(P(Node2=state1|Node3=state0)*P(Node2=state0)+P ...

I think soft evidence is related to inference and not learning. I constructed an example with two nodes where initially none of the nodes have evidence (see net1.jpg). Suppose soft evidence becomes available about node 2, namely P(node2=state0)=0.2 and P(node2=state1)=0.8. This can be implemented ...

Is such a feature planned?

Hello mark,

thanks for your advice, but it seems that there is no pragmatic possibility to set values as evidence. Is such a functionality planned for future releases? I really need to set some values as evidence in my work. It would be great if you could implement it.

Greetings,

Joerg
