Hello,
I am completely new to the whole BBN topic and have one question I am confused about. Right now I am busy creating a first try BBN to send it to experts for feedback. I've been reading manuals and instructions on how to build BBNs. One point which is still unclear for me is what type of nodes I can use within a BBN? Can I only use "chance"- nodes? Also for the output nodes? Or do I present the output nodes as a "value"-node?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: BBN type of nodes
If you are building only a BN, then every node is a chance node (by definition). Value nodes and decision nodes are parts of influence diagrams, which are extensions of BNs that model decisions explicitly. It may be a good idea for you to read one of the existing books on Bayesian networks or, at least an introductory paper on Bayesian networks. Charniak's paper is a good first step (complete reference in the References section of GeNIe Help).
I hope this helps,
Marek
