I am a new user of GeNIe and I like it very much.
I have a question for which I have not found an answer in this forum: working with the Annealed Map algorithm in GeNIe, once I have some evidence nodes and some Map nodes chosen, the results change at the MAP nodes window every time I click on Update (and also the probabilities P (map, e) and P (map | e)).
After some clicks the results are repeated in a different order.
As the probabilities also appear, I am not sure if all the results are OK and I can choose the one with the higher P (map | e) and so on.
I would be very grateful for any hep,
Pilar

Re: Annealed Map change results when I click on Update
Can you post your network and the evidence/map node info here so we can reproduce the problem>
Re: Annealed Map change results when I click on Update
The evidence was Fraude = Propenso and the map nodes were Convive, Edad, EstCiv, RelAct, Relig, Sexo, TiHij and VivProp.
But I think it happens the same with other nodes and also other networks...
Thanks you very much,
Pilar

Re: Annealed Map change results when I click on Update
Annealed MAP is an approximate/stochastic algorithm. The outcomes calculated for nodes selected for MAP (Convive, Edad, etc) can change when you press Update button multiple times. However, it seems to me that for each distinct set of calculated MAP outcomes the numeric values displayed in the dialog box are consistent. You can try adjusting the 'steps' and other parameters in the upper part of the MAP window to fine tune the algorithm.
Re: Annealed Map change results when I click on Update
Yes, I have tried adjusting the parameters. Some of the adjustments makes the results change slower.
But it seems also to me that the numeric values are consistent.
Many thanks and congratulations for your work...
