learn parameter

Post by e078449 »

When I was doing Learn Parameters... from Data, and tried to drag and drop the network to match data, the "drag and drop" is not working, i.e. they can't be draged and dropped to the Matching column. Could someone help?

Thanks.

Can you upload your data and network? I'll be able to check what exactly is the problem.

Yes, I can impor both data and network, and they show up on the matching screen as well. Just when I try to drag to match them, it doesn't work, i.e. I can't drag and move them around.

sorry for the typo in the previous reply. "impor" meant "import" or "upload."

Thanks.

Can you upload/post your data and network here, in this thread on the forum?

actually it happened even when i used the tutorial examples.

also the "drag and drop" is not working either for building dynamic BN, again using the example in the tutorial/help manual.

the datafile is retention_discretized.txt and the network is param_learning.xdsl.

In the 'Match Network and Data' window, what happens when you drag node 'A' from the left column onto variable 'apret' in the right column?

it worked!!

Now since the issue is similar (drag and drop) for creating DBN. It is not clear how the Rain_1 box is created in the tutorial (or help manule) for Create DBN. drag-and-drop does not pop up that box automatically. The procedure is in the help manual, and I tried to follow the process there.

Thanks!

Can you point me to the actual page of the tutorial? Are you having problems with creating DBNs, or with learning the parameters in DBNs?

it's in the GeNIe help manule, if you search for Creating DBN.

I can go up to Step 2, and don't know how to start and complete Step 3, where the nodes are created and linked as shown. (like Rain module [1] and temporal links).

To create the circular temporal arc, enable the arc tool in the GeNIe's toolbar, then start dragging from Rain node, move the mouse pointer out of Rain, then move it back into Rain and release the button. You should see the popup menu with 'Order X' items - select the right temporal order and you should see new temporal arc.
