Combining expert elicitation and emprical data

Are there possibilities we can combine expert elicitation of CPTs and empirical data in Genie?

Absolutely! This is in fact what we have been advising when the data set is small (a "small data set" is, of course, a relative term and depends on the complexity of the network but we are dealing with too small data sets most of the time :-)). You can start with a rough estimation of the probabilities in your network and then use parameter learning with the option "Keep original" (in the "Parameter initialization" dialog). Confidence is also known as "equivalent sample size" and expresses the number of records that the existing model parameters are based on. The existing parameters are combined with the data in the proportion that corresponds to ESS and the number of records in your data. This is all described in GeNIe manual.
