Apply the BBN to a table of cases

Post by nzsk »

Is it possible to apply a discrete or continous BBN in Genie to a whole table of cases at once and save the simulations in a new column? I know it's possible to load a case and run the BBN in the interface but is it possible to apply the BBN to many cases at once and save the output as a new column in the same table?

Yes, just load the network and data, then use 'Validate' command from the main menu. GeNIe will display a dialog box where you can specify if you want to perform a cross-validation, or just test the network without any learning. Select 'Test' and enter the file name of the output file at the bottom of the dialog box.

It doesn't appear possible to apply a hybrid network to a table of cases. This only seems possible with a discrete network. Is this correct? Many thanks.

That's correct. This functionality is currently only supported in discrete networks.
