Dear Shooltz,

than you very much for your offer. However, I refrain from sending you my BPN since it wastes your precious time and to put it in the public domain would not help others so much...Furthermore, my BPN can be easily larger than what I have now...

Thank you anyway for your help!

Thanks, dear Shooltz all the time,

Yes, I fully agree it depends on the structure I have...but it would be very nice if GeNIe or SMILE provides information on the size of cliques at analysis.

I will test once using virtual memory (accepting a long long calculation time) if SMILE can analyze my BN ...

Dear Shooltz,

thank you for your comment and sorry for the confusion.

I had tried with Algorithm "Clustering" at first. Then I had the error message - Error when running Cooper's algorithm. Thereafter, I tried with some of the sampling-based algorithm and it worked with them. I did not try with ...

64bit version SMILE for linux

Dear

Considering the limited size of cliques that 32 bit version SMILE can handle by the choice of cooper's algorithm. (see my previous post http://genie.sis.pitt.edu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=75), I am thinking to use Linux (x86-64) version. Then at least we should be able to avoid the memory ...

Dear Shooltz,

many thanks!

So in the end I need to add one more utility node... (I just wanted to avoid this, since my influence diagram has so many utility nodes that is is cumbersome to add arc by hand.)

Now, I have one comment to the SMILE documentation regarding to this issue.

In SMILE ...

Summing up utilities

Dear all,

I have an influence diagram that has a number of utility nodes. I just want to get the sum of the expected utilities. I can do this with GeNIe by introducing a dummy decision node; the decision node shows the sum of the expected utilities.

I want to do the same thing in SMILE. How can I ...

Thank you! I can imagine you cannot predict how I am close to the limitation.

But, probably you can give me the conditions implemented in the code under which the error message occur. Am I right?

Thank you very much for the propt reply.

Actually I understand that my ID is complex...

I would like to know exactly the conditions that produce this error message. how can I see how close I am to the limitations?

With kind regards,

Error when running Cooper's algorithm

Dear all,

I have the error message shown in the subject when I tried to analyze my influence diagram.

The summary of my influemce diagram is:

Object Count States Parameters
Nodes 2119 3890 126152
Chance 1945 3890 125804
Value 174 - 348
Arcs 2646

In which situations does this error message ...
