Equation nodes and choice probabilities?

Hi I am modeling a class of students doing peer-assessment on each other. Each student is modeled by a small BN, and all the sub-nets are connected depending on the assessments. The teacher sets as evidence the student's choices and is guided through the correction. This is done in Yap Prolog with C...

Re: Genie crashes on this network ... why?

I have now able to successfully run the network with the exact Clustering algorithm.
To do that I have removed all its deterministic nodes, as they were used only as aliases (identic copies of other nodes) and were not actually needed.

RFE: OOBN extension of Genie/SMILE?

Hi, I am modeling a set of individuals interacting and I must manipulate their individual reactions instead than modeling them as a population represented as a probability distribution. The obvious way to do it would be to define a subnet as a class and then to instantiate several copies of it. This...

Re: Template subnets? Class nodes?

It works a charm, the temporal plate emulates a class almost exactly as I wanted!
Thanks!

Re: Genie crashes on this network ... why?

Not exactly a circle ... the dependences are not circular even if the subnet network seems to be circular :-)

I'll try your suggestion, thanks

Re: Template subnets? Class nodes?

Thanks for your fast answer! Do you think I could use some kind of trick to emulate several instance nodes, copies of a single one containing the "true" CPT ? The only trick coming to my mind now is using temporal plates, mapping each one of the student's subnet to a different temporal mom...

Template subnets? Class nodes?

I hope my question isn't too stupid (I am rather new to Bayesian network analysis). I am trying to model a set of students doing peer evaluations. I am modelling each student as a subnet, with the same CPTs used in the nodes representing their behaviours/decisions. In some sense, I am defining a sub...

Re: Genie crashes on this network ... why?

Thanks! I have tried applying both your suggestions and now I am able to use "Update immediately" (Ctrl-F5) without Genie exploding immediately. Unfortunately the network still explodes later when I do as follows in the main network: - I select nodes n88 n87 n86 n77 n83 n78 n79 n80 n81 n82...

Genie crashes on this network ... why?

Hi
I am new to Genie, and I am trying to use it to model a group of persons.
I have designed the network
bayesian-oa-REW.obfuscated.xdsl
(70.69 KiB) Downloaded 351 times
, but Genie crashes as soon I press the F5 key
Could anybody tell me why this happens?
Thanks

I am using Genie version 2.0.4497.0
